Easy Vanilla Shakeology Recipe

All you shake drinkers know that time is of the essence so you need an easy quick prep shake recipe to start your day.  Here you go!

Ingredients:

  • 6-8 ice cubes (use more if you like a thicker shake)
  • 3/4 cup Unsweetened Almond Milk
  • 1 cup water
  • 1 scoop Vanilla Shakeology
Blend all ingredients together, pour in a glass and enjoy.  Yeah you’re done!  You can adjust the amount of liquids depending on taste and desired consistency.  Love the new Vanilla Shakeology flavor.  You can use the above recipe with the Chocolate and Greenberry flavors as well.

Note: you can also add a bit of cinnamon and/or nutmeg for a more fall seasonal drink.  Enjoy your easy Vanilla Shakeology recipe!

Finally It’s Here! T25 Focus Alpha Beta

Don’t you just love discovering a BeachBody box on your doorstep?  Finally my copy of T25 Focus has arrived!

It’s like Christmas in July looking through all the materials.  Start guide, nutrition guide, tracking poster, cds and strength band.
 I don’t have a neon salmon band so this will look good next to my green, blue and black:)  And for those who don’t know – the different colors equate to different resistance levels.
This workout is really going to burn the fat and the time requirement is minimal (which is why it appealed to me so much!).  I love #P90X but dang those workouts take forever.  T25 is a wake up and burn and then head off to work routine.  Only 5 days a week.  It’ll be tempting to fit in doubles or even double up with Tony Horton.  Either way I’ll be feeling it…FEELING IT!
Knocked out this first installment of ALPHA which is the foundation for the workout series.  I feel so darn good and look how chic this CD is and as much as I love my equipment it is kind of nice to pick up and start a workout without all of the gear.

Excited for T25 and Vanilla Shakeology

Can’t wait to get started with Shaun T’s T25 which is exactly what it sounds like…25 minutes a day for 5 days a week.  Finding time in my schedule to work out is the biggest challenge and this will take

care of that.  I see doubles in my future…morning with T25 and evenings with Mr. Tony Horton.  Pure bliss…

How long have we been waiting for Vanilla Shakeology?  FOREVER!  Love the chocolate and tolerate the Greenberry but Vanilla is going to blow my mind!  I’m going to be smelling that bag like a little kid smells her vanilla scented cabbage patch dolls.  Add some cinnamon and I’m in heaven!

Blue Mango Greenberry Shakeology®

Ingredients

3/4 cup Mango juice
1/2 cup frozen blueberries
1/2 cup cold water
1 packet Greenberry Shakeology®
4 ice cubes

Blend all ingredients until smooth.  I made two of these back to back.  I drank one for dinner and froze the other serving in a thermos for breakfast.  No one wants to hear a blender chewing up ice at 5am!!

Chocolate Java – Shakeology®

Ingredients

1 packet Starbucks Via® Columbian Coffee
1 packet Chocolate Shakeology®
12 ounces of water
6 ice cubes
I prepped the coffee an hour before I actually made the shake.  I like my shakes COLD.  Boiled 12 ounces of water and added it to a mug with the Starbucks Via® Columbian Coffee packet.  Stirred and put in the freezer.  After the coffee cooled down I poured it into the blender with 6 ice cubes and the Chocolate Shakeology® packet and blended.
Pretty darn good!  I’m a coffee addict so this was a special treat for me as I’m trying to wean myself off the caffeine.

Greenberry Blues – Shakeology®

Ingredients

1 packet Greenberry Shakeology®

1 cup Silk® Almond Milk
1/2 cup frozen blueberries
4 ice cubes
I made this shake right after my YogaX workout and then I put it in a plastic thermos and stuck it in the freezer for 15 minutes.

While the shake itself didn’t look too appetizing (green with speckles of blue) it tasted delicious.  The one thing I’m going to caution folks about when they use blueberries in their shakes is to have dental floss handy.  All those itty bitty specks of blueberry skin get stuck in between your teeth!

Chocolate Covered Strawberries with an Almond Twist – Shakeology®

Ingredients

1 packet chocolate Shakeology®

1 cup Silk® Almond milk
1 cup frozen organic strawberries
4 ice cubes
I’m totally in love with the almond milk!  Only 60 calories for one cup and it’s delicious!  I had to stop myself from eating the frozen strawberries before they were thrown in the blender.  Talk about a healthy snack that takes awhile to eat (very cold on the teeth).  

This shake is delicious and has got to be my favorite recipe for the chocolate Shakeology® thus far.  I actually over estimated the calories on this one.  The last chocolate shake I made had a banana in it and that added a lot of calories.  This one was only 333 total!  I’ll need to eat a snack later this evening in order to eat ENOUGH calories for the day!  How weird is that?  Love it!

Greenberry Strawberry Sunrise – Shakeology®

Ingredients

1 packet Shakeology® Greenberry mix
1 cup Chobani Plain 0% Greek Yogurt®
1/2 cup frozen organic strawberries
1/2 cup orange juice
1/2 cold water
8 ice cubes

I like my shakes cold and not too thick.  If you like your shakes thicker then don’t add the water and take away an ice cube or two.  The ingredients above filled a 20 oz glass and then some.  My husband had the “and then some” and  he liked it.  Liked it so much he wanted more and I said “hands off it’s mine!”.  I absolutely loved this shake!  It tasted so good AND it’s healthy for you!  This tasty treat replaced my evening meal and I’m stuffed!

Chocolate Pina Colada with an Almond Twist

Ingredients

1 single serve packet of chocolate Shakeology®

1 medium sized banana
1 container Dole® pineapple tidbits
1 1/2 cups Silk Pure Almond Original® almond milk
Okay here comes the hard part – but it all in a blender and turn it on!  Pulse until you get desired consistency.  Please note that the banana makes this a pretty thick shake.  If you want it not so thick then add more of the almond milk or even some water OR you can take out the banana all together or half it.  Can’t really taste the pineapple so you might want to add two of the tidbit containers or skip it all together.  Not a bad mix though.  Decent amount of calories but they are good healthy ingredients!

And The Quest Begins

I’ve been searching for something to get my fitness kick started.  Sure I can use the excuses that so many other people do:

I don’t have time
I have an office job (thus I sit all day)
I have children
I’m in school
I don’t have money and healthy food is more expensive

And the list goes on and on.  There are ways around all of these things and I’m going to find them and share them with you.  I’ve been 50-75lbs overweight for the past 10 years and I’m SICK AND TIRED of it!!!  I’m fairly fit but I’ve got all this baggage I’m carrying around.  I don’t feel that bad but I don’t like the way I look.  I want to be a size 10 (so I’ve got a ways to go!), I want to feel better than “that bad” and most of all I want to be healthy for myself and my family.  I want to be able to do 10 pull-ups (I’ve  never been able to do even one!)  Wouldn’t mind throwing a triathlon and a Mudder in there too!  And the quest begins with my signing up as a Beachbody coach to both motivate myself and others through awesome products like P90X (which I totally love) and Shakeology (which I can’t wait to try!!).  There will be more more to come and I’ll even throw in some videos where you all can make fun of me if you like!  Can’t wait!  It’s going to be a blast!  Now I’m off to go jump my way through 700 calories on Tony Horton’s P90X Plyometrics!
