I’ve always loved reading and have my mother to thank for that. Thanks mum! She pushed me to read when I was younger and I quickly found I quite enjoyed it. We would go to the library and check out the maximum number of books every week. I would read them all and go back for more. The library was quite limited and I found myself rereading my favorite books. Some books I’ve even read multiple times…when I say multiple I mean 10+ rereads.
My favorite genre by far is fantasy and I thoroughly enjoy authors such as Margaret Weis and Tracy Hickman, Brent Weeks, Richard A. Knaak, Peter Brett, Piers Anthony, Douglas Niles, George R. Martin, Michael and Kathleen Gear, Charlene Harris and many more. I find myself drawn to series of books because there is nothing I hate more than a good story not being continued by the author. I tend to gravitate towards trilogies and larger collections. Some of which include The Death Gate Cycle, Dragonlance, Dragonrealm, World of Warcraft and more. I really enjoy a good story that is not of this world.
I’ve read so many books it’s hard to keep track of them all. That’s why I’m starting this blog…to track what I’m reading and offer insight for people who are interested in fantasy, science fiction and historical fiction books. Sure I’ll ready the occasional non-fiction, mystery or romance novel but those are few and far between. I don’t have as much time as I once had to sit down and read but I’ll be posting as many entries and I can on the books that I’m reading. Some of the entries will be as I’m reading the book and others will be post read.
I look forward to any discussion on the books that may occur but am fully prepared to enjoy this blogging adventure even not one person reads my entries. Cheers!
